As we speedily approach the season mid point, and more so, with Christmas on our doorstep, I wanted to wish you and your families the very best over the festive season and say a few words about where we are.
There’s loads of great work being done by the coaches, their support staff and those unmentioned angels who do everything else at the club, you know who you all are!! Sorting everything in the background that means it’s is easier for the rest of us to get on with helping the kids develop and provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the kids to play their rugby. Thank you.
If you think you would like to get more involved then my message to you is ... do!
Speak to your coach or me and find out how and what help they need, or what you can do to help at the club.
It has been a real pleasure to see the girls section flourish from its inception to where we are now. To those that are and have been involved, I would like to personally thank all of you for your commitment and effort. You have had to overcome some challenges and are moving in a really positive direction.
Following our meeting with the parents, a real thank you goes out to those that said they would get involved and have, we can’t do it without you.
There is a bright future for the section and the wider club, with further planned development through access to grant funding and more localised support that will provide opportunities for us to improve the club facilities, so please keep up that continued effort.
In the midst of this, I would also ask that all of us think about why we do what we do.
I would be greatful if you could spare a few minutes and read the good conduct codes for coaches, players and parents that are attached.. it’s important !!
We can all learn, relearn and reinforce these expected behaviours.
Rugby is a really special game, but it is only special because of what we, as the people involved, do to maintain those values and behaviours.
It is important that you understand that you are it’s custodians and by how we present as a club, interact with each other and our opposition, we will keep it so.
You are all ambassadors for the sport and club.
Thank you for your time, I hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to some more great “Rugby”, in the New Year.
