Chris Emes, Honorary President of Walsall RFC

Welcome to our website, we hope you enjoy browsing our pages and get a flavour how our club operates on and off the field. We aim for high performance on the field and a very active social life off the field. We are a community based club and all are welcomed through the doors of our clubhouse be it on a player, spectator or social basis. Our new Club manager, Paul Wright and his staff will be pleased to ensure you are well looked after in our bar and we hope our players provide good entertainment on the field.

This will be my eleventh season as President and Walsall RFC look forward to another enjoyable season in Midlands West 1. We will certainly be doing our utmost to finish higher than the mid-table position we achieved last year. Hopefully we can get a good injury free start unlike the last two seasons. The United team and our 3rd team will be aiming at maintaining their winning ways as they both finished top of their respective leagues. With the second XV gaining promotion to the Midlands Reserve league.

The Mini and Junior Section of the Club is very successful, with good numbers turning up each week; we look forward to welcoming them all back. New players of whatever age or experience are always very welcome. This season we are trying a new age group - micro rugby for 3-5 yar olds (Baby Bears). The emphasis is on play and fun! Hopefully we will see our future stars emerge from the Youth section in the years to come.

For local supporters please keep your eye on the forthcoming events and entertainments as they are announced in the programme, on our notice boards and on this website. Your support is vital to keep the club annual turnover healthy and generate the funds we need to maintain our facilities and league position. Please also note we would be very grateful for your input in any capacity to help manage the club as the House, Entertainments and Fund Raising Committees all need more members.

Finally I thank on behalf of the club everyone who has helped last season and who will help this season, in any capacity both on and off the field. Once again the pitches and club house are in good condition and ready and waiting for the new season. Please visit our club to play or watch a good standard of rugby on the field and experience great times afterwards in our clubhouse.
