Walsall Under 16's V Kidderminster
Good Game, Good Result!
Walsall Under 16’s V Kidderminster
Sunday 10th April 2016
Walsall, under the captaincy of Sam Tillott, welcomed Kidderminster to delves road for a welcome return to rugby after the Easter break. Walsall started strongly but, in an error strewn first half, were unable to convert their pressure into points. However, from one of their many intrusions into the Kidderminster half, a strong run from a quickly taken penalty led to a maul close to the Kidderminster line from which Ed Mallaband burst over the line for the only score of the half.
After an encouragement to up the tempo, Walsall did exactly that in the second half and soon after the kick off George Perkins received the ball from a ruck and burst through the defence to score an unconverted try. From the kick off George again made a break, connected with Sam Garbett who sprinted under the posts for a try converted by Rhys Gaddu. Then came a move down the right which Kidderminster managed to push into touch. From the resultant line out, Walsall produced a driving maul which Kyle Towers broke free from and drove over the line for an unconverted try. It was the turn of Rhys Gaddu to get himself on the score sheet when, from some broken play he jinked and then forced his way over the line for a try converted by Joe Tipson. The last try of the game came from George Perkins when he outsprinted the defence to go over for a try wide out that was well converted by Joe Tipson to leave the score 36-0 to Walsall. A good win!!
