At the start of the month we were in the doldrums having a thread bare playing squad which could barely put two full teams out every week . Talk of a relegation battle had become louder and with tough games coming up there was a sense of dread in the air.
Then came an opportunity, our neighbours decided to part company with their talented management team and it was a gift horse that could not be passed up upon.
As player numbers dwindled last season the club had made a tentative approach to Neil and Craig before they had taken the job down the road and had looked on quite enviously as they amassed a squad of players that looked capable of getting them out of League One at the first attempt .
The ridiculous rumours flying around since that they were coming to us at the end of the season are just that ridiculous rumours with no truth in them whatsoever .
In three short weeks the new management team have signed a dozen plus new players, we have 20 plus turning up for training, competition for places in both squads and the real possibility of resurrecting the A team/development squad for next season, oh and 6 points on the board beating 3rd and 5th in the MPL respectively to take us into mid table .
It is early days but the Club's decision to "strike whilst the iron's hot " is looking somewhat of a masterstroke ,small steps as the saying goes but the club is in a much better state than it was a few weeks ago and the bar taking are looking alot healthier too !!! #UTS
