Jordan Wilmore (Watford FC)

Ex Loughton FC U13's and Abbey FC U15's player, Jordan Wilmore reached the Final of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup today playing for Watford FC in what is recognised as one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe!

The Northern Ireland Milk Cup was established in 1983 and quickly progressed to become one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe, if not the world. The competition is based at Coleraine, County Londonderry and several surrounding towns - Ballymoney, Limavady, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Ballymena and Broughshane.

The event, held in the last week of July, has attracted teams from almost 60 countries around the world including Europe, the USA, Africa, the Far East, South America, the Middle East, Australia, Russia, New Zealand and Canada.

Some of the biggest clubs in the world have entered including Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as well as top European greats - Feyenoord, FC Porto, Barcelona , Benfica, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kiev.

Players who have taken part in the competition and went on to major honours include David Beckham, Joe Cole, Damien Duff, Steve Staunton, Wayne Rooney, Steve McManaman, Peter Crouch, Ryan Giggs, Belozoglu Emre, Gary Neville, Joey Barton, Michael Carrick, Craig Bellamy, James Milner, James Vaughan and Dean Ashton to name but a few.

In the 2002 Japan and Korea World Cup Finals there were no fewer than 30 Milk Cup veterans.
