Wanderers Close-In On 7-a-side Title

The Rovers can afford to lose on Monday and still retain their crown but there may be a twist in the tale.

Wanderers began their season with 2 back-to-back losses and finished the previous season with a defeat, so their form has been questionable.

However, stunning performances from James Green have compensated for that - his midfield guile has led to a tally of nearly 20 goals of Wanderers 33 goals. Whilst Wanderers are top of the league with a 3-point lead and a +19 goal difference, their last match is against Crouching Midgets.

Midgets, formerly The B Sharps, are undefeated in their last 3 games - one of which was a 5-1 win over Wanderers. If they can repeat the feat, and score 22 goals in the process, they can snatch the cup.

Okay, who am I kidding - the result is immaterial. No bookie would offer odds on Wanderers conceding more goals in one game than they have all season. So, if you want to see the boys close out the season and drink cider from the trophy, swing by The Railway Tavern, Tulse Hill, around 8:30pm next Monday...
