The first half was a tight defensive affair - Richie Guy went close with a shot on 15 mins but United came close on the half hour with a break from a corner blasted over. But 2 mins later they did take the lead when a long range shot beat Farrow into the bottom corner.

Although unlucky to be behind at half time the 2nd half never really happened for Wantage 0 - subs Shaw and Barder added some legs to the attack alongside the lively Pedder but United caught Wantage on the sucker punch again just after the hour making it 2 after some neat team play. Defensively Abingdon were solid and the midfield and attack had no answers.

Overall a well deserved and well drilled victory gained a measure of revenge for 3 defeats last season for Abingdon.
