After last Saturday's false start The Freds get their pre-season campaign underway tomorrow (Sat 8th July) with a home friendly against Toolstation Western League side Calne Town.
The Wiltshire club finished second from bottom of the First Division last season but did reach the second round of the FA Vase before losing 2-0 to Torpoint Athletic.
Our only competitive meeting with The Lilywhites have come in the Vase, with Wantage coming out on top on both occasions – a 2-1 win in 1974-75 and a 3-1 win in 1987-88 after a 2-2 draw at Bremhill View.
This is the first outing for both sides this term, with the game kicking off at 1pm on the practice pitch at Alfredian Park.
Unfortunately the Reserves game that was due to follow v FC Kidlington has fallen foul of plyer availability and is now OFF.
