Ware supporters take to the road to support Ynys Môn in the biennial celebration of sport in some of the world's smallest communities.

Well, what are you doing in the close season with no football to watch?

Some Ware fans are off to the XVIth Island Games which this year are being held in Jersey from June 27th to July 3rd with 14 sports to watch and 24 islands taking part.

The sports are fairly straightforward from Archery to Volleyball but some of the islands will test your knowledge of geography. OK, the likes of Jersey and Guernsey are there but have you heard of Hitra, Gotland or Saaremaa? Get your atlas out or start googling.

Pete Miller, his brothers Rob and Richard, and David Pearson, all long term supporters of the Blues, are off to watch the Games and have been planning it for a year. They'll be heading to Jersey on Friday 26th June and will be camping for 8 nights. Although initially neutral they've decided to throw their weight behind Ynys Môn (that's Anglesey to you and me).

Pete Miller explains "Our schedule will be jam packed with 15 football games and time spent at all of the other 13 sports. The sport is free but we've been saving money for the ferry and camping for a year."

But why Ynys Môn? "Out of the 24 competing islands, we wanted to pick one of them that we could support throughout the week. Not all the teams compete in the football, but we had to ensure that ours did as football is the main attraction of the week for us. We chose Ynys Môn and we're now gearing up to giving them vocal support this summer."

And Mersea? "With Rob now living on Mersea Island in Essex and that being the focal point of our reunions, we decided to label our pursuit as Mersea To Jersey."

You can find their exploits on Twitter at @MerseaToJersey and there's also a blog which charts their decision making and what they're going to be getting up to at: https://merseatojersey.wordpress.com/"
