Brightlingsea fight hard but Ware take the spoils in sixth game without defeat.

After a goalless first half Ware went behind to another headed goal from a cross into the box but a spirited comeback saw the Blues home. Kieran Bishop scored the first before Murat Karagul hammered home the winner from the edge of the box. The ball took a slight deflection but not even the most pedantic of UEFA assessors would have called it an own goal.

For a time Ware looked like going on the rampage with a Kasim Bishop run that ended with him hitting the bar a stand-out moment. But the visitors came close in a final period that had Ware supporters biting their nails.

A full report will follow in due course.

Elsewhere in the league Needham Market continue at the top after a 3-0 home win over Cray Wanderers who are now second from bottom. Harlow stay second after a clear win in a nine-goal thriller at home to Dereham and third-placed Thurrock (Ware's visitors on Tuesday night) arguably did significantly better with a 6-2 win at AFC Sudbury who slip to eighth.

Cheshunt lost 3-2 at home to Brentwood but Waltham Abbey seem to be coming back to form with a 3-0 win at Wroxham.

Redbridge drop to bottom place despite their second draw on the trot (2-2 at Tilbury). The reason is that Great Wakering won 3-2 at Barkingside with a last minute goal. The home side must wonder what hit them as they had scored twice in the preceding ten minutes to bring the scores level.
