A seventh away win in Ware's 4,900th game since 1892 keeps them in tenth place despite conceding their first goal in 285 minutes.

Anthony Thomas was on target twice before Charlie Ledula completed Ware's scoring well into the first half added time after referee Mr Cook was carried off with an injury. A 90th minute consolation for the home side took some of the gloss from a performance that showed the benefit of Ware's passing ability in windy conditions.

They remain in tenth place, one point behind Aveley who were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Maldon.

Harlow hold on to top spot after a 5-2 beating of Barkingside (due at Wodson Park this Tuesday) with all the goals coming in the first half but Needham stay close behind after their 3-0 win at Redbridge (who follow Barkingside to Ware next Saturday).

Of the other top sides AFS Sudbury drew 1-1 at Tilbury whilst Brentwood won 2-0 at Brightlingsea. Once again the goals in both these matches came in the first half. Wroxham's game at Romford was postponed.

The two clubs below Romford both lost and continue to look doomed to relegation. Burnham Ramblers lost 3-1 at home to seventh placed Thurrock whilst Cray Wanderers let a lead slip twice at Soham to lose 4-2.

Cheshunt picked up a point at Chatham in another 1-1 draw whilst their and Ware's former manager Tony Faulkner saw his Thamesmead Town win 1-0 at Dereham.
