Match Preview

Two weeks ago, the preview for our home game with Barton Rovers highlighted the small size of our squad due to injuries and a suspension. Well, the suspension is over and we have recruited to increase the pool of players so there should be fewer complaints on that score. The problem now of course is to get the new players properly embedded in the team. This match will give us an idea of how well that process is going.

Hadley got the better of us in the FA Trophy earlier this season. Although it’s possible to highlight some bad breaks that we had in that game it was the kind of heavy defeat that we have seen a few times too many. We are prone to those it would seem and Hadley are just the sort of team that can exploit that tendency.

After a slow start in the league the Bricks are still near the bottom of the table but results have stabilised in the last month or so and four wins in six games have lifted them clear of any immediate danger. They will be no push overs.

There’s just one youth game at Wodson Park on Sunday with the Under-14s hosting Letchworh Garden City Eagles. Other results will be relevant but there’s a chance that a win will take us top of the division so it’s well worth looking in on the game. Kick-off is at 10am, entrance is free and the club room and tea bar will be open.
