Match Preview

This will be our first league meeting with the ODs this season but we did beat them in the FA Cup back in August. We’re unlikely to use that 2-1 win as an indicator for Saturday’s game as a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. Maybe too much water as our hosts are concerned about the effect the recent rain has had on the pitch. We’ll keep you informed of any developments via social media.

After two home defeats we’re in need of a good performance and result at Creasey Park against a team now just two points behind us and with two games in hand. They too have lacked consistency and their last six games have alternated between wins and losses. Their last was a defeat so here’s hoping the alternating run continues.

We will have Jon Clements in the squad following his signing in the week. He has played 18 games for Biggleswade Town this season and scored eight goals. However, the Waders kept him on the bench in last week’s meeting with them. Jon has also played for Welwyn Garden City and scored the only goal of the game in our home defeat to them on February 26th 2022. Does that mean he owes us one? I hope so.

I’m unaware of any injuries other than that to Fred Burbidge. I’m not sure how that’s developing but we may well see Sam Bentley between the posts again this week.
