First Hampshire side to visit Ware in 22 years.

It was the journey to Fleet that commenced our time in the Southern League back on August 8th when we took a point from a 1-1 draw. A goal down at half time we equalised soon after the resumption and looked capable of winning. But Josh Oyibo's red card changed things and in the end we were grateful for a fine double save from Jack Smith to preserve a point.

Since then Fleet have not had the best of times and after their defeat at Petersfield in midweek are fourth from bottom in the table. They have lost eight of their nine away games and all by a margin of at least two goals, the only exception being a 3-3 draw at Aylesbury where we were hammered 6-0. Go figure, as they say.

Meanwhile, for those who are interested, the last visitors from Hampshire were Aldershot Town who scored a 2-0 win on 18th September 1993. Supporters will be hoping for a better outcome on Fleet's first visit to Ware.

The programme for Saturday (£1.50 on the gate) will include the usual history of our visitors, a half time quiz, Travellers Tales, Past Programmes (Tooting & Mitcham vs Walthamstow Avenue) and Tractor Tales in which Aiden gives his latest views on Mr Blatter and discusses ground grading issues.
