May Newsletter Season in Full Swing

1. County Match
The Committee would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the organising and supporting the Berkshire v Oxfordshire County match on May 8th. The players and officials from both counties were very complimentary of the club hosting this event. And it was great to see so many visitors and friends watching the match. There are photographs of the match on the WCC website.

2. Fixtures
The season is now in full swing with something happening at the club most evenings during the week and at weekends - weather permitting! Details of the club fixtures are available on the website under 'Teams' - Senior/Junior/Ladies.

This season's fixture cards are available in the clubhouse for collection.

Match reports will be published in the Henley Standard. Anywhere else??

3. Chairman's Player of the Month
Reminder to all team captains and managers. The Chairman's Player of the Month nominations need to be made by the end of the month. This award is open to any player from any team and age group.

4. Club membership
Payment of annual subscriptions is due by 31st May. Discount on adult membership ends on 31st May also.

5. Collection of match fees/membership + Minutes Secretary
Bob Woodmansee (Treasurer) is looking for someone to collect match fees and chase up payment of membership. If you would like to assist then please contact Bob on robert.woodmansee@btinternet.com
Ken Clark (Secretary) is looking for a Minutes Secretary to take minutes at the monthly committee meetings. If you are interested then please contact Ken on kenclark3@btinternet.com.

6.Social
A big thank you to Frances Walker, the Waitrose Wine Specialist, for hosting a fantastic wine tasting evening early in May. This was greatly enjoyed by everyone who attended. Well done to Anjali and her team for organising.

7. General Club News
- The Adult squad is fielding 3 teams on Saturdays with some very good results so far. Please come up and support. Then the bar is open and very busy from 6pm onwards

- Friday night Colts training sessions are starting to flourish with excellent coaching provision, BBQ available and the bar open from 5.30 - 6 approximately.

- Numbers for girls cricket has increased with the end of the football season. There has been great coverage for the girls in the Wargrave News and via posters in schools

- We are still looking for a Tea Organiser for Saturday match teas. The club is seeking to employ a tea organiser to purchase, prepare and serve teas on Saturdays. Do you know anyone who might be interested? Contact Ken Clark for more information - 07853 182252 or kenclark3@btinternet.com
