From 7pm every Thursday, over 55s are invited to the clubhouse on Tatbank Road to play Walking Football. With a strict 'no running' rule, it's a great way to get some exercise, make some friends and just have some fun.
Walking Football's main man Pete Ryan will be leading the session and said the most important thing to remember was that "it's really all about exercise using a football, not being a good footballer."
The plan is to play on Warley's all-weather pitch as soon as it's ready, but for now the club is letting us use the grassed area to the left of the bar to see if we can establish an interested group.
The grass is usually kept as a beer garden area and this will be respected by the Walking Football team: that means no boots and no game if it's wet.
If you or someone you know is interested in playing Walking Football then get them along to Warley clubhouse on Tatbank Road at 7pm on Thursday 31st July for the first session. Don't forget to bring your trainers, a water bottle and some pennies for the bar afterwards!
