This Saturday's Curtain Raiser Features The Under 7's

Cantilever Park welcomes Warrington Junior League football this Saturday as two local clubs go head to head before Warrington Town entertain Radcliffe Borough.

Warrington Town Juniors' Under 7's B team feature this week against Cromwell Athletic Under 7's in a 1:00pm kick off. The fixture is set to be a great local derby for the spectators to witness in preparation for the first team fixture.

The 2 teams will enjoy a whole day at Cantilever Park starting as 12 noon as they are introduced to the facilities and surroundings by the club's community development officer James Standing.

The two teams will take a look inside the changing rooms before the likes of Allan Collins, Chris Oldfield and Chris Thompson arrive before pulling on a Town shirt to represent the senior side.

The Under 7's game will kick off at 1:00pm before the children are treated to a presentation and man of the match awards at 2:40pm in the social club.

Before 3:00pm, the two junior sides will be lead onto the pitch alongside Warrington Town first team players and the visitors Radcliffe Borough to shake hands with the match officials taking charge.

The fun doesn't stop there as a half time penalty shoot out is planned to round off the day.

Town's under 7's are managed by Gary Wilcock while Cromwell Athletic's under 7's are managed by Dean Bickerton.

"The curtain raisers have been brilliant this season and the smiles on some of the children’s faces. Everyone has really welcomed the occasion and it helps to create a great atmosphere on matchdays." said James Standing, who is hosting the event for the sixth time this season.

The club would also like the thank it's catering partner The Crazy Hog Company, for supplying the after match food for the juniors.
