Warrington Town Football Club will This Saturday be launching a new, unique way for young supporters to be entertained and get active on matchdays at Cantilever Park by hosting multi-sports sessions and mini tournaments for children to take part in before kick off.
The idea is to encourage more children to take part in sports as part of a healthy lifestyle. On a matchday Girls and Boys can take part in activities such as football, cricket, handball Before the match between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.The offer is open to both home and away supporters every Saturday matchday.
Currently, under 12’s gain free admission to watch the club in the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North while adults are charged £8.
Turnstiles will open at 12:30pm to allow supporters entry to the ground end enjoy the pre-match atmosphere in the social club while the children will be kept entertained with multi-sports and fun sessions taking place on the new 3G all weather pitches.
The cost to join the matchday club is just £3 each home game and is open to 6-16 year olds. Boys and girls are welcome to join in.
Community development officer James Standing said “We are a family club and always looking for ways to enhance the matchday experience. This is another initiative that fits in with the work we are doing in the wider community to help promote healthy lifestyles for kids. We already have our curtain raisers for local junior teams so the matchday club adds to an already terrific family atmosphere.”
Adopted club mascot Ollie The Owl will also be taking part sporting his new shirt around the ground on matchdays after Warrington Disability Partnership forged a link with the club along with the Big Storage Company.
