Where is the venue? What facilities are there?

The Acton free taster session is taking place at Wasps - Twyford Avenue Sports Ground. A link to the venue map can be found here. The playing area is walkable from Ealing Common, Acton Town and West Acton tube stations.

There are changing facilities available onsite.

Further Information

We will be starting off with some information on the basic rules, some fun Tag Rugby based games and then head into some match play so new players can get a feel of how Tag Rugby is played. The referee will explain the rules clearly during the game so players can quickly get an understanding of how the game is played. In the mean time feel free to check out our What is Tag Rugby video and our Free Taster Session video to get a further idea of what to expect.

Can all players please arrive for 7.20pm. The session will start at 7.45pm. The event supervisor is Les Neal, who can be contacted on 07792 967357.

Afterwards, arguably the most important part of the evening takes place, the after match social, where you can get to know the group better over a drink and bite to eat! This will take place at the Wasps FC clubhouse bar.

What Else Do I Need to Bring?

International Tag Federation approved Tag Rugby shorts or ladies Tag Rugby tights are compulsory for play. If you already own a pair of approved Tag Rugby shorts, please bring them with you for the session. Alternatively, Tag Rugby shorts will be available to purchase for £12 in cash or to borrow for FREE. Try Tag Rugby sell approved Tag Rugby shorts for £12 at all our venues and shorts or ladies Tag Rugby tights via our online shop. When ordering items in our online shop, you can either have them posted out or choose to pick them up at the Tag Rugby venue. The only other brands of shorts we allow are those which meet International Tag Federation approval such as Oztag, NZ Tag Football and the Irish Tag Rugby Association.

The playing surface is grass. Recommended footwear is Rugby/Football boots with blades. You can wear trainers but please note, it may be slippery if we get some rain during the day. Rugby boots with metal studs will not be permitted for play. For safety reasons, players must not wear any jewellery such as rings or earrings on the pitch. Watches will also not be allowed during match play. Items of clothing with external pockets such as hoodies will not be permitted for play, shirts must be tucked in at all times.

All other equipment such as Tags, Rugby balls, markers etc... are provided so just bring a drink and get ready to have a great time!

How Do I Sign Up to a League?

If you enjoy the free taster session and you would like to get involved in a league, please click here for the upcoming schedule and full details on how to register. Try Tag Rugby run mixed, men’s and ladies' leagues, six days a week. There are 35 different London leagues to choose from!

As you have already registered on our website, to officially register for a league you need to log back into your account and follow the prompts to register for the relevant league. If you get some friends or work colleagues together and enter a team, your team place is confirmed with a £100 deposit. If you join individually to be placed in a team, your place is confirmed by paying the full individual registration fee. If you don't have enough players for a full team you can also register as a group.

Early Summer leagues begin across London from the week of April 25th. Registrations close for each league six days prior to the league starting date. Please note, many leagues will fill up prior to the deadline, so don't leave registering until the last minute or there is a strong chance you will miss out.

Many thanks and we hope you enjoy the free taster session. If you have any questions/queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.
