Going into the break Wasps were kicking themselves due to 4 missed scoring opportunities left on the field.
The second half went much the way of the first with Wasps seemingly in control of the game. Having said that Lichfield appeared to have more sap to their running and were beginning to break some tackles. After 52 minutes Hannah Edwards
knocked over her 2nd penalty of the afternoon and extended Wasps lead to 6.
Lichfield came fighting back and after 58 minutes took the lead for the first time with a try from T. Nicholas and the successful conversion from C. Nicholas saw Lichfield leading with just 20 minutes remaining. Shortly after going behind things didn’t appear to be getting any better for Wasps as they received two sin bins within 4 minutes of each other for Baltruweit and Sime.
This appeared to galvanise the 13 Wasps players as they continued to fight for every ball and were dominant at the set piece and after gaining possession worked their way towards the try line and multiple phases and pick and goes led to the match winning try from Dawson. The game ended 18-14 to Wasps, with 4 missed opportunities and a try with 13 players this squad continues to grow each week with some exciting rugby building constantly.
