The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has today announced Tyrrells as title partner for the new women’s domestic competition, with the official name of the competition now the ‘Tyrrells Premier 15s’.
Firwood Waterloo Ladies will kick off their campaign with a home fixture against Saracens at 2:30pm on the 16th September, as part of the new 10 team elite league competing to take home the inaugural title.
It was announced in February that Firwood Waterloo was successfully awarded one of the 10 coveted places in the new elite league. Clubs involved in the competition will benefit directly over the next three years from the RFU’s £2.4m investment. Each club will be required to deliver against agreed minimum standards and provide high-quality coaching, facilities, training environments and community engagement plans.
Firwood Waterloo Ladies Chair, Helen Duggan is excited about the future of the club and how it will benefit rugby

Now we have secured our place we are looking forward to working clubs regionally and Constitute Boards to take rugby in the area to the next level.
“The ladies pre-season training has already started in earnest with many new staff being brought in to support the coaches and take the club to the next level of competition.
“It is going to be an exciting time working with the RFU and Tyrrells to increase the participation in women’s and girls’ rugby and introduce new players to a game that we are extremely passionate about at Firwood Waterloo.
“We have to thank all the members and supporters at the club, from the U7’s right up to the first XV who have helped us through the rigorous application process and the preparations for the coming season.
