THE Merseysiders cemented their mid table position with a spirited performance that earned them a bonus win against their Yorkshire visitors.

A four try performance by the home side was against a team that needed respect despite them being lodged at the foot of the table.

Beverley's pack especially contained enough power to be a threat but to be fair to Waterloo they rarely lost their focus.

The home side salvaged enough possession particularly with some useful lineout work to do the damage.

Waterloo centre 25 year old local lad Andrew Trotter certainly caught the eye with some elusive running that brought him a brace of tries with Dan Palmer adding another before Gary Lunt' s vital touchdown in the closing seconds of the game. Standoff Liam Reeve was also on target with 3 penalties and a couple of conversions. The visitors had small consolation from a try by scrum half Chris Infield and a couple of penalties from stand off Philip Duboulay.
