Brow push Siddal from top of table

WATH BROW HORNETS picked a crucial win as they edged past SIDDAL 18-6.

Cole Walker-Taylor kicked two conversions and penalty for the Hornets which supplemented touchdowns from Jamie Devine, Karl Dixon and Scott Pink.

Siddal were well in the contest despite trailing 12-6 at the break, but slipped to defeat despite a try and two goals from winger Gareth Blackburn and second half efforts from Iain Davis and Gavin Stead.

THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS moved off the foot of the table thanks to a 32-17 win at EAST LEEDS.

Adam Hesketh, Dave Bates, Niall Allen, Shaun Quinn, Sean Kenny and Aaron Dancer claimed the Thatto tries which helped seal just their fourth win of the campaign so far.

Quinn landed four goals for good measure, whilst in reply Easts stand-off Nathan Conroy booted two goals and a field-goal.

The home side trailed 14-11 at the break and slipped to a sixth defeat this term despite efforts from Jason Priestley, Jack Ely and Jake Normington.

HULL DOCKERS edged past WEST HULL 23-14 in a hard-fought derby clash.

The Dockers opened up an 18-4 half-time lead but were pushed all the way by a Wests side battling to avoid the drop.

Stand-off Chris Stephenson gave them the perfect start when he crossed after just three minutes and by the end of the game he had been joined on the score sheet by Richard Lamplough, Nathan Powley and Andy Kay.

Ross Kemp was on target with three goals, whilst Craig Cook added a field-goal.

Scrum-half Danny Nicklas grabbed the visitors sole first half effort before Louis Crowther and Lewis Brown crossed the whitewash in the second period. Dylan Price managed a conversion.

A hat-trick from centre Brad Hargreaves helped LEIGH MINERS RANGERS to a comfortable 30-12 win over LOCK LANE.

Mick O’Boyle and Joe Harrison also crossed and Sam Shepherd added five goals for a Miners side that now sites third in the table with games in hand on the top-two.

The visitors – who were 18-6 down at half-time – replied with tries from Craig Jones and Connor Turner, plus conversions from Danny Rowse and Turner.

WIGAN ST PATRICKS won an entertaining game at OULTON RAIDERS 34-20.

Second-rower Liam Gannon played a key role with a hat-trick for St Pats, whilst Afeez Oderine, Sam Makinson and Earl Hurst also touched down for the visitors. Brad Smith landed five goals.

The Raiders actually led 20-16 with 24 minutes left but can look back at the dismissals of Jonny Austin and Andy Tillett as a huge factor in their defeat.

Danny Macintosh kicked two goals for the hosts, with their tries coming via Tommy Griffiths, Craig Savage, James Cruikshank and Adrian Holdsworth.

ROCHDALE MAYFIELD are the new leaders after a 40-18 home success over EGREMONT RANGERS.

Full-back Declan Sheridan capped a good afternoon’s work with a hat-trick as Paul Brearley, Sam Butterworth, Dave Wood and Lewis Sheridan all crossed the line as well.

Scrum-half Butterworth finished with a 16-point haul after slotting over six goals.

The Cumbrian hosts were 12-0 down at the mid-way point but did manage some consolation in the second period when centre Matty Bewsher improved tries from Tom Horner (2) and Leon Crellin.
