31st October 2014 The latest predictions are in and League Weekly’s Mathew Newton has picked the two teams he thinks will progress in week two of the play-offs.

After resting-up last week WEST HULL and WATH BROW HORNETS meet with both looking to take the quickest possible route to the Grand Final.

The top-two meet in a repeat of last year’s showpiece event and Mathew is backing the champions to come out on top again.

Wests have also won both this seasons league encounters although with both been by a narrow score line – 12-8 and 6-4 – it could be just as tight this time round.

LOCK LANE are backed to get to within 80 minutes of a trip to Widnes after overcoming SIDDAL.

Honours were even in the regular season meetings between the two with home advantage proving crucial, however, Mathew thinks that trend will be bucked in this knockout tie with the visitors returning to Castleford with smiles on their faces.

Mathew’s tips this week are:

QUALIFYING SEMI-FINAL
West Hull v Wath Brow Hornets – West Hull by 14

ELIMINATION SEMI-FINAL
Siddal v Lock Lane – Lock Lane by 4
