WIGAN ST PATRICKS moved to the top of the table following a 28-20 success at HUNSLET WARRIORS

WIGANST PATRICKS moved to the top of the table following a 28-20 success at HUNSLET WARRIORS.

The visitors were indebted to Liam Gannon and Ryan Smith – who both crossed twice – whilst full-back Jayden Sandford also touched down and scrum-half Bradley Smith landed four goals.

The Warriors – who trailed 10-6 at the break – had Gary McClleland on target with two goals whilst the full-back also crossed for one of his side’s four tries.

Jake Corney (2) and Nathan Kitson were the other try scorers.

EAST LEEDS slipped to a heavy 48-22 defeat at home to West Yorkshire rivals SIDDAL.

The visitors cruised into a commanding 28-12 half-time lead and added a further 20 points in the second period to make sure of the two points.

Full-back Gareth Blackburn helped himself to a 20-point haul – a try and eight goals – and stand-off claimed a hat-trick.

Hamish Barnes, Emmerson Newburn, Craig Sanderson and Daniel Keane touchdowns completed their scoring.

In response Easts were limited to tries from Declan Tomlinson, Luke Tomlinson, Jake Normington and Joey Walkin, with Nathan Conroy kicking three goals.

SKIRLAUGH picked up their first win of the season with a 34-12 win over city rivals HULL DOCKERS.

Ross Kemp kicked the first two of his five-goal haul in the first half as he improved tries from Tom Saltmer and Lee Nobbs as Skirlaugh took a 12-0 lead into the interval.
Michael Johnson, Jonathan Young, Kemp and Nobbs all crossed in the second half to make the game safe.

Dockers – who remain pointless at the bottom of the table – did manage tries to Jonathan Long and David Palmer, both of which were improved by Chris Stephenson.

WATH BROW HORNETS were knocked off top spot following their 18-16 home defeat to THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS.

Karl Dixon and Fran King both grabbed a brace of tries but crucially Scott Pink was unable to add a single conversion in the muddy conditions.

Thatto – who only managed three tries in response – were grateful to the goal-kicking of full-back Shaun Quinn who improved tries from Jamie Tracey, Corey Lee and David Sutton as they picked up their fourth win from five games.

WEST HULL cruised to a comfortable 42-10 victory over EGREMONT RANGERS.

Scrum-half Ian Kerman booted seven goals and winger Josh Hart went over twice as the home side dominated from start to finish.

Luke Foster, Tom Radley, Scott Howlett, Matthew Plummer and Ryan Langton touchdowns completed a good afternnoon’s work for the home side who now sit third in the table.

Egremont were limited to a try in each half from Paul Corkhill and Ben Walker, with Mathew Bewsher improving the first effort.
