No seventh heaven for Waverley
Visitors succumb in the final over...
Waverley travelled to Chertsey for a first meeting and elected to bat first on a pitch that turned out to be more down than up as Wright found LBW on the ankle. At 47 for 5 the visitors looked to be crashing out of the game but an invaluable partnership of 66 between Vass and Harris put them back into contention. Puckett, bowling well, was removed from the attack with 2 wickets in 3 overs but came back to get another two before tea.
Waverley skipper Day, was instantly rewarded with a low LBW but then D Johnson and James got a hold of the game putting on 60 and the required run rate was finely balanced. At this point Seven Sports settled into the game with some good partnerships and although Golding bowled his leg breaks very well, the visitors could not get all the wickets they needed and lost this game by 4 wickets with 4 balls to spare.
Thanks to Mr B for the match report.
