Waverley overcome Frost-bite
Captain's knock puts Waverley in command...
Waverley’s Minshaw and Wright put on 62 before Minshaw was adjudged LBW to a ball that never got up. Another LBW and M Carmichael was back in the hutch leaving Golding with Wright to put things right and they did before Wright was castled on 101 going for the big heave-ho. Five overs later in the 35th, skipper Wright called the side in on 237-6 but not before TM Carrington had a roller coaster of a 4 over spell, taking 4-26, sticking to his task admirably.
After tea on a warm evening a Frosty reception awaited the visitors. Jordan Frost opening the innings played splendidly until an 8 over spell between A Carmichael and P Brewer put the home side behind the run rate and he was bowled unusually pulling across the line. The visitors then got themselves well on top until James Frost came in to turn the game around for The Bourne with some powerful hitting, until he was caught in the deep on 80. Then with two wickets and 5 overs to negotiate, the task was too much and the visitors scraped home.
Thanks to Mr B for the match report.
