Abinger Hammer Waverley
Visitors' spectacular collapse leads to defeat...
Batting first Waverley appeared to be going well, a second wicket partnership of 32 from father and son Brewer formed the anchor of the innings before the hard hitting S Brewer grabbed his third ton in 4 games ripping into the Abinger attack with Ryan putting on 106. At 165 for 3 all was well until Campbell was then brought into the attack taking 5-14 and Waverley were all out 12 runs later for 176.
The Hammer took no prisoners after tea and launched into Waverley from the off, who soon found themselves at 102 for none against Churchley and Siderfin. A change of bowling brought some relief as P Brewer stemmed the tide with new player Greensitt and 14 year old Kyle Moxham. This though didn’t stop the inevitable as Dunn and Jones slowly guided their side to a 7 wkt win, with 9 overs to spare in this timed game.
Thanks to Mr B for the match report.
