With no cricket fixture scheduled this week, Sunday saw several of the Waverley CC membership trying their hand at a spot of golf instead, competing for the coveted Specimen Cup. Taking to the fairways (and rough, ditches, ponds and bunkers) were Raoul, KV, Troy, Mr B, Pridey, Doogs, Beanie and Loz.
The tone was set for the day right from the off, reigning champ Troy knocking his tee shot on the first hole straight into the middle of the green and two-putting for an easy par. The rest of the Waverley pack all demonstrated some commendable strokeplay, but it was Troy who ran out as a comfortable winner once the scorecards had been verified, with a very respectable score of 33.
The final standings saw Doogs take second spot (a mere nine strokes behind the leader), with Raoul and Pridey tied for third, one further stroke back.
Thanks to all for attending, it was another enjoyable social event for the club. Special thanks go to the head photographer Mrs B, and spectators Claire and Emily who all braved the rather miserable weather to cheer on the participants!
