The Future
After our first successful season in 2004, Weavering RFC became affiliated to both the Kent Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football Union. We are also associated with the Kent Society of Rugby Football Union Referees who provide all referees for our Home League fixtures but we also have our own qualified Coach / Referee.
We operate our own website under the RFU Community pages and our own independent website - you are reading it.
At present we operate just the one side. We currently have 31 players signed for our Senior side for the 2007 – 08 season, but with the prospect of a firm base, sufficient funding and Club House we aim to attract sufficient players to promote a second Senior team and develop our facilities to attract more Junior players.
Our future intention is to promote our 1st XV into the Kent Leagues while leaving our 2nd XV in the Mid Kent Leagues. This will not only attract additional media attention but also additional sponsorship possibilities.
We intend to develop not only the current players and personnel actively involved in the success of the club to date, but more importantly promote Weavering RFC as an attractive opportunity for established players, sponsors and the development of a youth section.
We currently operate from the grounds of Maidstone Leisure Centre and have full use of their changing facilities. However, we recognise that in order to establish ourselves it is essential that we secure the necessary club facilities and provide our own family-friendly, non-smoking environment, which provides the usual post match refreshments, meal and entertainment associated with a Senior Rugby Club.
With this in mind, should we be successful in obtaining the Councils permission to operate from the King George V Playing Field we are proposing to incorporate the following facilities: -

• Permanent base for all Weavering RFC home fixtures.
• Temporary lighting structures for mid-week training facilities.
• Supply & installation of rugby posts.
• Post match refreshments.
• Weekend charity & Fund raising events.
• Advertisment of regular home games.
