Wednesbury 2 Bournville 5

Wednesbury began the half well attacking from the start and were rewarded with a short corner from which Tom Davies opened the scoring after a couple of strikes had been saved by the visiting goalkeeper. The rest of the half saw some good play from both sides with Wednesbury having the best of the play but not being able to score. Just before half time, Aiden in the home defence had to leave the field after an eye injury and from the resultant short corner the Wednesbury defence lost their shape and organisation and the visitors scored. Wednesbury then conceded a second when a good dribble from a Bournville player resulted in a good individual goal. The game in the second half flowed from end to end with both sides having chances. Wednesbury had the best of these but could not capitalise. Wednesbury picked up a second goal when Chris finished well after being set up by Adam. However in the last ten minutes Wednesbury conceded a third and then a fourth almost immediately and then very close to the end, a fifth which gave a scoreline which didn't really reflect the game as a whole. The experience and better possession play of the visitors was probably the difference between the two sides.
