Thirds avoid relegation on the final day.

Thirds Report 2014-2015

The season began well for the Thirds with wins in the pre-season games and an opening comfortable League win at home against Stratford who eventually finished fourth in the League. Games then followed against the top teams in the League were Wednesbury played well only losing by the odd goal in several games. The season then started to change for the worse in mid November with the loss of the team’s long standing goalkeeper as well as a red card. The team then began to struggle in a very competitive League and it became obvious that the team would be involved in a relegation battle. Results went against the team until the middle of February when things started to come together, partly due to the introduction of a new playing formation. In the last six games the team managed three wins and two draws to end up fourth from bottom of the League. The team had to win its last game to finish above the relegation places and this is did with a hardworking, committed performance.
Hopefully, the team can learn from its mistakes and move forward next season. Player of the Season was Wes Price who also won the Club’s Top Goalscorer award and Most Improved Player was Luke Broadbent.
