Streetly 6 - 0 Wednesbury

This evening Wednesbury were away for the penultimate game of the season currently sitting top and clear by 1 point of the following pack. Streetly were beaten at home earlier in the summer league season by just one goal and so this evenings game would be tough especially on their home turf.

We got off to a bad start with Nathan Bourne, Marcus Bourne, Tim Wilding, Ash Palmer and Ryan Fellowes all unavailable, Alex Lees had to drop out an hour or so before push and Connor Kilford just failed to turn up to the pitch.

Adam Hayward arrived some 15 mins after the start and Amiruz Zaman turned out as a last minute call up.

Within the first 6 minutes with only 9 players fielded Streetly had already had 3 penalty corners awarded and unsurprisingly on 8 minutes of constant pressing following advantage play due to a foul Streetly went one up. Six minutes later on 14 mins Street were 2 v 0 up

Streetly were awarded a further penalty corner on 18 mins well broken down and Wednesbury were awarded a penalty corner on 23 mins but a poor push in was a big problem but although Wednesbury recovered the slip up the final effort was broken down.

Streetly were 3 v 0 up on 33 min and a very well worn out Wednesbury came off for the break with the defence shattered due to the amount of pressure they had been put under and the substantial amount of energy that they had expelled at that point.

At this stage a well done to young Joshua Lal who came to watch and then put a shirt on and stood up to the plate. Over all the young man played well and especially in the second half commanded some respect when Streetly decided it might be best to leave a man marking him as he made a bit of a nuisance moving their back line out of position.

The second half was all Streetly in real terms and they put a lot of pressure on Wednesbury. Wednesbury did have chances and young Josh Lal put a couple of nice balls into the D that we should have capitalised on . He held up play on odd chances to lay the ball off for senior players to deal with but to no avail. Streetly on the other hand had a further 6 penalty corners awarded in the second half and although some were saved or broken down they still managed to score another 3 goals making the final score line a demoralising and disappointing 6 v 0.

Need full squad for the last game of the season at home next week lads
