On Sunday 8th March 19 of the clubs youngest players [5-10 year olds],took part in the Staffs Clubs 7-a-side Tournament at Lichfield HC with the following results;UNDER 10s played a round robin tournament,with 1 win[2-0 v Cannock],2 draws [0-0 v Lichfield and 2-2 with eventual runners up Stone],and 2 defeats ,0-3 to winners North Staffs ,and 1-2 to Leek.Captain George Ship scored 4 goals and Jack Bird scored one-other squad members were;Shaun Perry ,GK,Shiv Sharma,Leo Diponio,James Pace ,Nathan Jones,Ben Nicholls ,and Louis Jones.The team finished 5th,but it could have been even better!UNDER 8s played 4 games in their competition ,beating Leek 2-0 ,and drawing 0-0 with Stone[a game that should have been won],followed by a 2-0 win over N Staffs in the semi-final ,before losing 2-0 to Lichfield HC in the Final-all 4goals were scored by Tobie Bangham-other squad members were;Alfie Penn ,GK[who also guested in two other games for other teams],Georgia Archer,Keira Johnson,Nell Bissell,Jessica Whitehouse,Jenson Brevitt,Jonathan Perkins ,Ryan Perry and Luke Whitehouse.Thanks to all parents and family members who supported the players and also to coaches Nathan Bourne and Scott Craddock.The U12 Tournament takes place on Sunday 22nd March at Lichfield HC .Eddie Johnson.
