The home side batted first but the Weirs bowlers couldn't capitalise on a very low-bouncing wicket. They bowled far too many "hit me" balls to give the Accies batsmen easy runs.
Accies total of 111 might not be too imposing in other conditions but it was always likely to be too much on this wicket. So it proved as Weirs were quickly struggling with Shahid Hanif and Sher-Ali Afzal were both bowled for ducks inside the first seven balls.
Wickets continued to fall regularly throughout the Weirs innings. Veteren Alan Skelton restored a vestige of respectability with some hitting late on but Weirs could only manage 84 for 9 and were well beaten by 27 runs.
