The 1st XI went down to defeat at the Tryst but the 2nd XI enjoyed a good win at home on Saturday.

At the Tryst, Weirs went into bat but could make little headway against the Stenhousemuir bowling. Only Adil Raza with 50 performed well with the bat as Weirs were bowled out for 108.

That was never likely to prove a testing target for Stenhousemuir but Weirs did at least bowl tightly and made the home team take 33 overs to get to the victory target, for the loss of 3 wickets.

There was better news at Albert Park where Weirs 2nd XI enjoyed a convincing 9 wicket victory over their Stenhousemuir counterparts.

The Tryst batted first and were bundled out for just 57. Frank Duffy took 5 wickets for Albert Park and there were also tight spells of bowling from Sher Ali Afzal and Aqib Raja.

A good opening stand between Wajid Mohammed and Neil Greenwood saw Albert Park move comfortably towards the victory target. The only disappointment was when Neil was out just before the end but Albert Park could be happy with a very comfortable 9 wicket victory.
