Weirs continued their great form with the ball to make it two from two in the First Division. And there was a fine win for the second team as well.

Weirs travelled to Torrance House for a tricky looking game against East Kilbride. But in the end the game proved to be pretty short and a decisive victory for Weirs.

East Kilbride batted first and were soon in all kinds of trouble as Zeshan Qumar and Abbas Arfeen tore through their batting order. Only one EK batsman made it to double figures as they were bundled out for just 52. Zeshan and Abbas both finished with 4 wickets.

Weirs made slightly heavy weather of the small chase but come home comfortably enough for the loss of 4 wickets in just 12.3 overs.

At Albert Park the Weirs 2nd team played Williamfield (Stirling County 2nds). The visitors batted first and played solidly. Albert Park are getting sick of the sight of Williamfield opener Ian Wilkinson who batted for a long time last year when Williamfield chased a big total aginst them and added 88 on Saturday. Williamfield finished on 209 for 5 off their 50 overs. Zaheed Hussain took 2 wickets for Albert Park.

Albert Park lost an early wicket in reply but that just brought Chris Smith to the wicket. The Aussie hasn't been a regular for Weirs on Saturday in recent seasons and he showed what a loss this has been as he hit a fine knock of 96 not out. Chris received solid support from Zaheed Hussain (31) and especially from Sherali Afzal with 52 and Albert Park reached the victory target of 210 for the loss of only 4 wickets.

All in all an excellent weekend's work for Weirs and here's hoping that the victories continue.
