The 1st XI were thrashed in Stenhousemuir but the 2nd XI had a nail-biting victory at Albert Park.

In the 1st XI game, Weirs batted first at the Tryst but collapsed dismally. They were all out for just 65. Only Hafeez Anwar (13) and Danesh Rajgopal (10) reached double figures. Arafat took 5 for 17 for Stenhousemuir.

Stenhousemuir cruised to the victory target of 66 in just 13.2 overs. Richard Young took the only wicket to fall which leaves him tantalisingly poised on a career total of 999 with one game of the season to go.

At Albert Park, the home team were put in to bat by the Tryst on a soft wicket but made a good start. Shael Force 10 was blowing round Albert Park as Mohammed "Shael" Zafar cut and pulled to great affect on his way to 34. Unfortunately, a Weirs collapse then set in as the home team slumped from 41 for 0 to 100 for 7. But that only brought Derek Wright and Frank Duffy in to the wicket. They produced a fine unbroken partnership of 68 for the 8th wicket that gave Albert Park a very defensible total of 168.

In the early stages of the Tryst reply 168 looked like it would be more than enough as some tight bowling from Frank Duffy and Sherali Afzal saw the required run-rate mount rapidly. Things began to change though when Mohammed Yasir came in on the fall of the 3rd wicket. Some hard hitting from him, combined with some butter-fingered Weirs catching brought the Tryst within sight of victory. Wickets fell at the other end but Yasir stayed firm and it finally came down to the final over of the game, to be bowled by Graeme Rice, with 16 runs required for victory. The first 2 balls were both dots and victory for Albert Park seemed close. But Yasir then hit a 4 and 2 to leave the Tryst needing 10 to win off 2 balls. A wide made it 9 to win off 2 balls and moments later Albert Park hearts sank as Yasir hit a huge six to set up a final ball with 3 needed to win and 2 needed to tie. But Graeme produced a good length ball on off stump and Yasir could only squeeze a single. Albert Park had won a dramatic game by just 1 run....phew.
