The 2014 season ended in disappointing fashion with two defeats against Ferguslie.

The 1st XI took on Ferguslie at Albert Park and batted first. Opener Russell Murray was in fine form, striking a rapid 63, but no one else could stick with him for any length of time and Weirs collapsed to just 93 all out in 34 overs. For the other 10 players to manage less than 30 runs between them was a poor effort and, unfortunately, typical of Weirs' disappointing season with the bat.

Ferguslie had no problems in racing the small victory target of 94 in less than 12 overs. Their professional, Keith Dabengwa, got most of them as he smashed a quickfire 71 not out.

The home team also batted first at Meikleriggs. Initially some accurate bowling from Nathan Barnett and particularly from Frank Duffy, who took 3 for 27 in 15 overs had Meikleriggs tied down. But runs came more easily in the last 20 overs as Darroch (42) and Morries (39) hit out against the Albert Park change bowling. Even so, Meikleriggs' final total of 176 for 7 off 50 overs didn't look totally unassailable.

But like the Weirs first XI, Albert Park also had one more collapse in them this season as they fell to 22 for 4. A decent 5th wicket partnership between Derek McIntyre and Alistair Gibson restored some order to the innings but when that was broken wickets tumbled again and Albert Park were eventually all out for 89, losing by 87 runs.
