The Chelston Business Park-based company has sites based at Northamptonshire, Yorkshire and Limerick, Ireland and is owned by VPK Packaging which has its headquarters in Belgium.

The Wellington site opened in 2013 initially as a packaging distribution hub and after installing a range of converting equipment it now runs as a full production facility for the manufacture of corrugated packaging.

The Wellington site has allowed the company to serve its growing customer base in the South West.

The sponsorship is part of Rigid Wellington’s continual strategy to support the local community. Sales and marketing director Julian Freeman said that he wished the team every success for the season. He commented: “We are proud to support Wellington Rugby Club, especially as the club has such strong support in the local community. Rigid feels strongly about championing local clubs and charities where our sites are located and we look forward to strengthening this growing relationship following the sponsorship.”
