WELLINGTON have appointed Lee Waddon as head coach for next season.

Wellington Rugby Club is delighted to announce that they have appointed Lee Waddon as its Head Coach for 2014/15.

Lee comes to Wellington with an exceptional track record both as a player and coach. As a player he was a much respected second row forward and his clubs included Bristol, Clifton, Taunton and Wellington.

He made his mark as a coach with the successful Taunton side of a few years ago and coached them through to the National Leagues. His most recent coaching appointment was at Minehead Barbarians.

The Club welcome Lee to the Athletic Ground where he will take over full duties at the beginning of the Summer and will almost certainly be looking to improve the first team's league position in what has been a very challenging year.

Lee has said “I'm really excited and honoured to be appointed head coach at such a fantastic club like Wellington”.

"I'm very much a winner – I don't like losing. That's the way I've always played the game.

"I see plenty of potential at Wellington and I can't wait to get started."

Meanwhile the Club would publicly like to thank Ted Keeble, Allyn Chetland and Matt Parsons for all the work they have put in this year. The fact that the 1st XV retained its Western Counties League status is testament to their hard work.

It’s important to remember also that the 18's and the Thirds both won their leagues and the 2nds have finished 5th in Somerset League 1.
