Truro 16 Wellington 15
Wellington’s forwards dominated the opening ten minutes, but slowly Truro aroused from their winter blues and began to function.
Then for the next twenty minutes the game was very even without any score.
A Wellington forward yellow card gave the home side a slight advantage and after thirty minutes, scrum-half Ricki Brandham broke through and scored on the right after forward pressure.
Then, three minutes later, an excellent Truro move culminated with Chevvy Reed scoring their second try on the left.
Neither of these were converted, although the second attempt bounced off the upright. There were no further scores in the first half.
At the restart Wellington came out all guns blazing and opened their account with a Mark Nichols penalty after two minutes. They followed this up with a forward try, credited to lock Anthony Gill.
Truro the came back with two penalty goals by fly-half Jake Champion to put them two scores ahead with ten minutes left.
However the visitors were not finished. Their forwards drove over the line and referee Darren Curry awarded a penalty try which Nichols converted for a losing bonus point.
