They had four ties on the scoreboard for a bonus point within 25 minutes and had the game sewn up at half-time when they led 29-3.

However, to their credit, Kingsbridge never threw in the towel and hit back with two tries in the second half.

Skipper, Tim Jenkinson and Matt Parsons both snapped up two tries for Wellington in the first half, with Parsons executing five outrageous dummies on his way to scoring his second. Mark Nichols kicked three conversions and a penalty.

Kingsbrige’s only response in the first half was a penalty by John Smith.

Chris Kitto was pushed over by the pack for another Wellington try in the second half, while Smith and Craig Johnstone scored five pointers for the visitors.
