A large crowd, many of whom had come expecting to see the first team match, were treated to a fast, free flowing rugby match, as Welly took every opportunity to run the ball.
trae gosling opened the scoring after ten minutes when the ball was worked wide and he bull-dosed his way over the line. Will Brewer scored two more tries in quick succession before Bridgy hit back with a penalty. A try by Ben Gamlin, converted by George Hooper made the half time score 22 -3
The second half saw several members of the under 16's introduced and none of them looked out of place which augurs well for next season as the tries kept coming. George Hooper out sprinted the Bridgy defence to score, then converted his own try, Ben Gamlin then scored three more tries in quick succession, with George Hooper converting two and Ricky Marke one.
Bridgy then came back into the game and after a period of pressure scored wide out to make the score 50 - 13. What then followed was one of the golden moments of the season when Ryan Marke gathered the ball just inside his own half. Building a head of steam he smashed Bridgy defenders out of his way, before being felled like a giant oak just short of the line. Such was his determination however that he reached out to ground the ball on the try line to score. Younger brother Ricky slotted the conversion. With the last play of the game Will Brewer broke clear to score his third try of the match.
The scoreline would suggest that Bridgwater were completely over run, with uncontested scrums however the forward battle was fairly even. The difference was that when Wellington had the ball they were totally clinical in their finishing and barely missed an opportunity.
