NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM APPOINTED

NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM APPOINTED image

We are proud to announce a new management team with immediate effect. Richard Gardner and Richard Brown have taken on the role of joint managers.

They bring with them their own team of Dave Read as head coach and Sue Gardner as club physio.

Between them they have a wealth of experience in the pro and semi-pro game.

Richard Brown was a pro at Walsall for two years before moving to Paget Rangers and on to an eight year spell with Rushall Olympic.

Richard Gardner played Conference football for Bromsgrove and AFC Telford United before moving back to Bromsgrove and then on to Lye Town.

Dave Read holds a UEFA B coaching licence but before he retired he had enjoyed a long playing career at Portsmouth, Fort Lauderdale Strikers, Cheltenham, AFC Telford United, Stafford Rangers and Rushall Olympic.

Sue Gardner is the wife of Richard and they met when she was club physio at AFC Telford United.

We are confident that the new team will uphold the wonderful success that the club have enjoyed over the past ten years. We also hope they enjoy the wonderful new facilities that will be in place at School Grove with the commencement of £57,000 redevelopment of the ground.
With a new management team coming in it means that the old one is standing down and the club wish to place on record their gratitude to Anthony (Spud) Cotterill for his work with the first team. Spud has had to stand down for personal reasons, but the club would like to thank him for everything he did.

Spud was assistant to Mike Armstrong for ten highly successful years and last year he took over the team with sixteen games to go. He won 14, drew 1 and lost 1 during a period when we played 16 games in a nine week period.

Have you seen these?
