Strong second half sees off Flint at Maesydre
A strong second half display saw Welshpool see off Flint for the third time this season, outscoring their visitors by five tries to three.
The home side opened their scoring with a try for full-back Gareth Jones, which was converted by the returning Andrew Thomas. After missing two penalties, Flint were able to bring themselves level with a converted try of their own, before Welshpool again took the lead through a Ryan Goodwin try, Thomas again converting.
Despite dominating play, Welshpool were unable to push on from this score and allowed Flint back in with a second score of their own to bring the score level at 14-14 at the interval.
Upping their intensity in the second half, Welshpool went ahead again courtesy of a try for wing Paul Davies, again converted by Andrew Thomas. Ryan Manuel charged over to give 'Pool a comfortable 26-14 lead, before captain Joe Stranks crossed for Welshpool's fifth try of the day, with Thomas again converting for a 33-14 lead.
The visitors had the last word, with a consolation score of their own to bring the final score to 33-19.
