The next game on our BWWPL Odyssey was home to neighbours Newport. They are in a similar position to us having lost alot of upper age group players.
We went in to the game confident of a win to get us back on track to climb up the league.
We started well we created some good chances and our defense was solid. 3-1
The second quarter we lost momentum. They reacted quicker and countered better. 7-5
That put them back in the game but we quickly regrouped and put in a solid spell. 12-8
We finished well and they never really troubled us after that. Final score 17-9.
We played well and at times it looked like it was going to be a cricket score but our finishing was not as good as usual and a few basic errors need to be sorted out.
Our youngsters are showing great promise and this was a good win.
Next Saturday at 1pm is an under 14 tournament held in Newport so all come along and cheer our stars of the future
