The first game got off to a good start. We only had one sub but this was a strong side. Everyone except one had played for Wales. Wanderers were split into two teams to get more game time. Newport are a young side but lacked size and experience which would tell at the end of the day.
1st Quarter
We started well goals came easily. The defence was well organised by Griffiths (M) and Pearce. Newport were taken by surprise how well we played. 10-0

2nd Quarter
With such dominance we could sit back and let the game unfold. The younger players stepped up and had some good battles. 12-1

3rd Quarter
Much the same, Rotation was difficult but coach Monico kept things purring and did some excellent shouting. 18-4

4th Quarter
We were starting to tire by this point but so were they. Some good polo was coming from everyone as we started to play as a team. Final score 23-5

Well done to everyone for a good win. All outfield players scored against a side who are getting stronger all the time.
