This was a quickly arranged game which was a good test for our ‘rising stars’.
All girls were and ’00' or younger. Swansea also had a young side who have come a long way very quickly with help from our own coach Rohan. Confidence was high with some good young players pushing through and a sprinkle of Wales and GB talent on show.
1st Quarter
We had a strong start with goals from Sanders(2) and Warren to steady the nerves and target their stronger players. This was achieved straight away by young and old players particularly Sanders who is showing strength in all areas of her game.3-1
2nd Quarter
Rotation came into play with some fine work from : Evans,Skyrme,Dafis,Quincy-Taylor and John.two goals from Sanders gave a cushion to work with. 5-2
3rd Quarter
Good goals from Pearce and Sanders pushed our lead a bit further. A long long range effort from Griffiths got the better of the current Welsh Goalkeeper.8-5
4th Quarter
All credit to a tough Swansea team who did not roll over but kept on fighting to the end. Goals from Sanders ,Warren and Bailey who had a very good all round game. 11-7
The win was a good win and we played together as a team with some good individual performances.Bring on the next team we are ready.
Special mention: Dara for going in goals which is never an easy job.
Goal of the day : Rosie’s belter.
