Charity Work

As part of the fabric of Midsomer Norton community the club directors recognise the need to ensure that the club makes and continues to make a valid contribution - both in the provision of local football and also towards fundraising for worthy causes in the area.

Every season the club now participates in The JJ Cup with Paulton Rovers, which doubles as a pre-season friendly. The entrance money is donated to Paulton Hospital. John Dury or 'JJ' as he was known was a Paulton boy, who grew up to be a Welton supporter and sadly passed away in 2010.

In addition, in 2012, a long standing member of the club, Paul Ingram sadly passed away and a number of events have been held to raise money for The Dorothy House Foundation, which gave the Ingram family great support.

Our old playing shirts are donated to a programme which sends football shirts of all types out to Uganda - and we are hoping to get some pictures of old WRFC shirts in action soon.

The club has also recently announced that a number of club members will be running the half marathon in March 2014 to raise money for the redevelopment of the club's stand' and also a local charity to be decided.

Local charities and their supporters are invited to put their names forward for both the Bath Half fundraiser and also for other events.

The club would also be pleased to let out the function room and / or skittle alley to any local charities, or community based groups free of charge, to assist in their fund raising plans.

Anyone interested should contact the club via the contact details form on this website.
